The Hungarian Vizsla is the smallest of the HPR, hunt, point and retrieving breeds and is a lovely russet brown colour with nose leather and toenails matching the coat. They are a medium sized dog ,usually slender with well defined muscles and have been in existance since around the 10th century. They are a gentle breed and make excellent companions as well as hunting dogs. The Wirehaired Vizsla is a much more modern addition having been created in the 1930’s from the German Wirehaired Pointer and Hungarian Vizsla.
